Hello,

How would nuclear energy fare economically and energetically if it was clean? That is, if its radioactive waste could be eliminated? Why is it that this isn't a world high priority? If we can create atomic bombs why can't we destroy them? Destruction is usually so much easier than creation.

There are presently hundreds or thousands of highly trained physicists alive today. What if we required them (like another super Manhattan Project) to figure out a way to clean up and then promised them a carrot of more money for yet another particle accelerator (or maybe just promise them tenure; that would be much cheaper). My guess is that they would figure it out in a few years (we're not talking dark energy here).
